Central MN Foster Grandparent Program

Mission Statement:

The senior volunteers of the Central MN Foster Grandparent Program of Catholic Charities provide meaningful relationships for children with special and exceptional needs that enrich the lives of all involved.

The Foster Grandparent Program is an intergenerational program that works!  It benefits the adults and the children they serve. We are under the direction of AmeriCorps and are an AmeriCorps Seniors program.  We offer a great opportunity for adults 55 years of age and up!

We are a National Service Volunteer Program.

The Foster Grandparent Program is always seeking adults to assist children in their classrooms. Become a mentor/tutor under the guidance of teachers.

• Want a new purpose- a different focus- a change of pace?  Apply if you're 55 or older.
• You may qualify for our tax-free stipend of $4.00 per hour.                       (This cash benefit is not income. It can't change other benefits you qualify for.)
• All volunteers receive mileage/transportation reimbursement. 
• Openings available now in Douglas, Pope, and surrounding counties.
• Go into the classroom/s. Teachers will guide you and so will the kids! ;)       children you enjoy interacting with! Share your time, talents, and personality with the kids who need positive adults in their lives.
• Flexible schedules with flexible time off! 5 to 40 hours per week.
