LSS Counseling and Family Resources offers diagnostic assessments, psychological testing, individual counseling, couple counseling, family therapy, domestic abuse programs, and more. Our licensed therapists integrate clinical best practices with experience, expertise and compassion to provide comprehensive, strength-based mental health services.

Educational Programs
Group classes provide a safe and supportive opportunity to share feelings, gain new perspectives, and engage in discussions and activities with people in a similar situations.
Our current classes ainclude: Anger Management, Chemical Use and Abuse Education (Yield and Choices), Substance Abuse Violation Education (SAVE), Incredible Years Parenting Education Program.
Free Counseling for Veterans and their Families
In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs, LSS provides free and confidential case management, counseling and treatment for Veterans and their families.
Free Early Child Mental Health Services
LSS Counseling provides culturally-specific and developmentally-appropriate mental health services to foster healthy social and emotional development in children ages 0-5. Free diagnostic and treatment services may be available to qualified children and families through grant funding provided by the MN Deptartment of Human Services.
In-home Family-based Services
LSS Counseling partners with county agencies to provide intensive in-home treatment to help children, youth and their families develop safe, healthy relationships.
What We Do
LSS Counseling and Family Resources, service of Lutheran Social Service of MN, provides comprehensive mental health services to assist children, adults and families through their individual challenges and signficant life transitions.
Our team of therapists in Alexandria employ a strengths-based approach to serve our clients with competency and compassion. As a Rule 29 Mental Health Center, our multidisciplinary staff offers expertise in individual, group, family and couples therapy, as well as psychological testing. Specialities include therapy for abuse and trauma, child and adolescent mental illness, as well as services for clergy and their families.
