Needs From: United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties

Lakes and Prairie United Way is looking for 4 volunteers to help serve food at the Live United Luncheon at the Fergus Falls Armory.  If you would like to attend the lunch, tickets cost $25.

Lakes and Prairie United Way is looking for a volunteer or a small team of volunteers that have great attention to detail and can organize the Community Impact Zone at the United Way Office before our Holiday Gift Program starts.  Tasks would include organizing small bins on shelves, inventory of some items, light cleaning, etc. 

Lakes and Prairie United Way is looking for 10 volunteers to help set up tables and chairs at the Fergus Falls Armory for the Live United Luncheon

Help us give out holiday gifts!  Families registered for our Holiday Gift Program will be coming to the United Way Office on Monday, December 22nd to pick up gifts purchased by sponsors.  We need help locating the gifts and carting them out to vehicles.  

We are looking for a few volunteers to help at the United Way Office on Monday, December 15th to help organize gifts as they are dropped off for our Holiday Gift Program.  You will be responsible for checking off sponsors as they come in and placing gifts in their designated locations.

The United Way Food Drop is coming up and we can’t do it without volunteers like you!  The drop will be at New Life Christian Church on Wednesday, November 26th.  We have multiple volunteer shifts available (if you are unable to work an entire shift, but would still like to volunteer, I will work with you).  

Shift 1 (10am-12:30pm):  Set up tables, Open paper bags, Cart food from outside to inside, Open cardboard outer cartons and unpack food, Load food onto tables, Bring cardboard out to recycling, Empty trash

Shift 2 (12pm-3pm):  Using carts, load food into bags for households, Sanitize table clothes & tables, Vacuum fellowship, Put tables away, or reset, Repack refrigerated or frozen food into bags per household, Clean up plastic wrap & cardboard, Set up outdoors for distribution (move pallets)

Shift 3 (2pm-5pm):  Move bags from church to outside, Monitor pallet/station, Reload pallet with groceries, Help or direct recipients with loading groceries, Empty all remaining trash, Vacuum entry & hallways, Mop kitchen & bathrooms

Shift 2 (1:10pm-4pm):  Move bags from church to outside, Monitor pallet/station, Reload pallet with groceries, Help or direct recipients with loading groceries, Empty all remaining trash, Clean up
