Who We Are
The Runestone Museum Foundation is a community supported regional history and natural science museum located in downtown Alexandria. Open year round, the museum has seven permanent exhibits and three rotating exhibits indoors and during warmer months, includes a large outdoor campus representing Fort Alexandria, originally built after the Dakota War and during the Civil War.
What We Do
The Runestone Museum Foundation's Mission Statement is to "Inform our future by preserving our past while inspiring curiosity about regional history and heritage through community engagement and education."
